Essential Touch Equine Therapy is owned by Certified Equine Sports Massage Therapist, Kay Bouley. Kay has been a horse woman for over 40 years. She began riding lessons at age 4 and hasn't stopped riding since. Kay has shown in 4-H and local shows as well as on the Paint and Quarter Horse circuits. She has always used some form of massage on her own horses, experimenting with different strokes and techniques to see what made her horse feel better before and after a ride. It wasn't until later in life that she decided to take this a step further and become certified in equine sports massage technique. After completing the EquissageNC course program, Kay began offering her services to horse owners in both North and South Carolina.

More recently, Kay has continued her education in equine bodywork. She is now certified in Equine Craniosacral Therapy, Animal Neuromyofascial Release Technique, Kinesiology Taping, as well as a second massage certification in Equine Myo-Manipulative Functional Therapy through Holistic Animal Studies. She continues to study new modalities as well as staying current in those she has already pursued.

DISCLAIMER: Massage therapy is not a substitute for veterinary medicine.  It is most effective when used as a preventative measure before or after competition.  By breaking up the tight knots of adhering fibers, which restrict full muscle extension, massage can prevent a pull or a muscle tear from occurring during exercise. Massage may be used in conjunction with current veterinary care. Please consult your vet with any concerns prior to scheduling your massage session.
